Cards for Hospitalized Kids
As a former girl scout leader, Leslie started this workshop as a way to make holiday cards for the troops. The workshop has evolved into one of our most versatile programs as we've discovered that there is no need for a "holiday" to make someone smile. Through jokes. riddles, art and encouraging words, we bring smiles to the faces of hospitalized children, veterans and seniors, all year long.
Participants use a wide range of supplies, which makes it fun and fulfilling for those who receive the card and especially for those who create this small, wonderful and unexpected surprise. Cards can be geared to seniors or veterans as well as children.

Together, Leslie & I created a workshop that combined curriculum with a creative twist for my students. The models and materials presented to the students generated excitement and inspiration so they could try new things in their own construction process. The discussion about the importance of recycling gave the students something to think about. Each child completed their travel log with confidence. They are currently using them to enrich their country research assignment. The skills they learned could be used in future projects. Leslie was wonderful to work with; cooperative as well as a creative and flexible thinker. I look forward to working with her again.
