Thank Our Veterans
While watching News 12, Leslie discovered that there is a housing project that takes homeless veterans off the street and provides them with furnished apartments. She reached out to the organization to find out how she could help. She determined that while the apartments come furnished, the veterans were still in need of those special touches that make a house a home. Leslie and the teens determined that the Thank You Plaque pictured to the left, was the answer.
In this workshop, through a variety of methods, teens will make a one of a kind item to donate as a special thank you to a veteran that has served our country and is struggling. CONCERN for living currently has 80 apartments for veterans. Leslie's goal is to make sure every single one gets a handmade thank you, while inspiring charity and kindness in the teens that participate in this program.
Grades 4 and up
$250 for up to 15 teens
$275 for 15 to go kits with video link
$300 for 15 kits with live zoom
Earns 1 hour of community service

So inclusive and full of energy – Leslie has a great ability to keep kids of all ages and abilities engaged and educated as we completed the amazing character education mural made with recycled materials.
